 Donovan
is presently head of the Commercial Department. He joined the firm
in 1994 having previously practised for many years with one of the
island’s other major law firms.
He has vast experience in civil litigation with special emphasis on commercial litigation including enforcement of security documentation, contracts, arbitration, conflict of laws and telecommunication law.
He also has experience in conveyancing and dealing with complicated restrictive covenants.
Donovan regularly briefs Senior Counsel in matters in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. He is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association Committee to examine the proposed Caribbean Court of Justice and the abolition of the right of appeal to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council and has written extensively on the matter.
Donovan has particular interest in electronic commerce and the use of computers and the Internet for legal research.
