Maurice has been the Head of the Litigation Department since 2004. He has advocacy experience at all the levels of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal in matters concerning receiverships, contractual disputes, contentious intellectual property matters, personal injury and property damage claims, and motor vehicle negligence. Maurice acts for insurers, receivers, as well as other general commercial clients and has also represented overseas insurers locally.

Maurice was a Judicial Clerk at the Supreme Court from June 1992 to August 1992. He was an Associate at the firm Gifford Haughton and Thompson prior to joining the firm and during that time practiced at the criminal bar. This has given him considerable experience with jury trials. He began working at Nunes, Scholefield, DeLeon and Company in 1997 and became a partner in 2000.

Maurice was a tutor of English Law and Business Law at the College of Arts, Science and Technology (now the University of Technology) from 1992 to 1996. He has been an associate tutor for Civil Procedure II at the Norman Manley Law School since 2005 and is occasionally a Second Examiner.

Maurice is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association and in 2010 was an Elected a Bar Council member. He is currently the Secretary of the Bar Council.
