Sherry Ann is a Partner in the Litigation Department, with experience as a mediator and as an advocate in all courts in Jamaica with extensive experience in contentious family and probate matters, personal injury claims, real estate disputes and the modification of restrictive covenants. Sherry Ann has been a Supreme-Court certified Mediator since 2002 and was an Associate Tutor in Family Law at the Norman Manley Law School from 2008 to 2013. She has been a member of the Council of the Jamaican Bar Association since 2008, and held offices as Assistant Treasurer, Treasurer, Vice President and President (2016 – 2017).
She is a Director of the JN General Insurance Company Limited. She was involved in several major cases, including Orphiel Brown v Annette Brown which dealt with significant issues under the Property (Rights of Spouses) Act and Re An Application for Legal Guardianship of MA , which confirmed the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction to safeguard the interests of vulnerable adults who are not mentally ill persons. Sherry Ann contributes weekly columns to the Gleaner’s Flair under the rubric “Laws of Eve”, which look at matters touching and concerning various topical legal issues.
